Tom Betts is a fourth-generation Floridian who brings over 25 years of expertise to Howard Group’s Development division. Raised in the rural town of Myakka, Tom developed a passion for construction while working alongside his brothers in framing and masonry. After a career in the U.S. Air Force that took him around the world in project and materials management, Tom returned to his roots in construction, eventually joining Howard Group in 1998.

In his role as Development Manager and Director of Tenant Coordination, Tom oversees planning, permitting, contracting, and construction for a variety of commercial projects. He also works closely with tenants to ensure their spaces meet Howard Group’s high standards. Tom’s extensive experience, which includes masonry, residential construction, and project management, has made him a cornerstone of Howard Group’s team. He values the close-knit camaraderie within the company and takes great pride in helping create spaces that foster connection and community.
